Alexandra Coppadge currently serves as the Director of Communications for the City of Wilmington, DE and spokeswoman for Mayor Dennis P. Williams. As the Mayor and City’s spokeswoman, her work focuses on developing and implementing effective communications strategies. As one of the youngest communications directors across the country, Coppadge strives to empower other emerging young, female leaders in the workforce by sharing her experiences in municipal government.
Coppadge began her communications career in front of the camera and on the radio as a sports reporter covering football, basketball and sports entertainment events. As a sports reporter, she worked the sidelines for MSG Varsity, Heritage Sports Radio Network on Sirius XM and Brooklyn Independent Television Network.
In addition to her role as a City official, Coppadge also serves as an Executive Board Member for the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League Young Professionals. She also graduated with a B.A. in Communications and Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
