Cerron Cade is a graduate of Delaware State University where he majored in Political Science and Law Studies. While playing football with the Hornets, Cerron also served as President of the College Democrats where he volunteered for numerous campaigns.
Upon graduation from DSU, Cerron was hired as a Regional Organizer for the Democratic National Committee. In this role Cerron was tasked with the responsibility of organizing Delaware Democratic Party efforts in preparation for the 2008 election cycle. Cerron served as one of the lead organizers responsible for state democrats winning a majority of seats in the Delaware House of Representatives for the first time in over two decades.
Following the 2008 election, Cerron went to work as a Legislative Aide for the Delaware House of Representatives’ Democratic Caucus. As an aide in the General Assembly, Cerron conducted legislative research and provided counsel to members of caucus. During the 2010 election cycle Cerron served as a campaign mentor to various party supported candidates.
In 2011 Cerron ended his service with the Delaware General Assembly and accepted a position as Deputy New Castle County Director to United States Senator Thomas R. Carper. As Deputy County Director, Cerron was responsible for representing the Senator at meetings and events while remaining engaged in the progress of any federal projects operating within New Castle County. Cerron also served as Senator Carper’s State Field Director in his 2012 re-election campaign.
In 2013 Cerron joined United States Congressman John Carney’s office as the Congressman’s State Projects Director. Though tasked with the same duties he held for Senator Carper, in this role, Cerron would now be responsible for overseeing the progress of federal projects throughout the entire state.
