Biography

Ms. Taylor-Gibbs, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, prides herself on dedicating her life to children. A mother of one son, Ms. Gibbs has taught thousands of Wilmington’s youth. She began working at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware at the age of 13, rapidly becoming the first female youth of the year. Ms. Gibbs attended school in the Brandywine School District, and went on to pursue a career in education with degrees from the University of Delaware (Bachelor’s in Education) and Wilmington University (Master’s in School Leadership). She has taught for over 16 years at Warner Elementary, taking a brief break from the classroom to pursue a passion for helping students in the role of School Climate Coordinator.

Ms. TG, as she is affectionately known, comes from the mean streets of Wilmington, and is a firm believer in no excuses. She passes these beliefs on to her students-rather, any child she comes across. Where you are from has absolutely nothing to do with where you can go. Ms. TG knows that education, in any form, allows for students to have more choices available to them.

Ms. Taylor-Gibbs wishes to continue reaching students. She is currently working on several projects which are for the sole purpose of helping our youth reach goals higher than they ever could begin to set for themselves. Her ultimate dream is to create a school which would allow all children to flourish-no matter what obstacle they may face.
